Gave myself a really nice afternoon full of a mani-pedi and basketball. Going out for dinner to a fancy restaurant tomorrow with a vendor, so we get to dress up! And what girl can resist a mani-pedi?

Got back from my Cruise to the Bahamas and my load at work is reasonable. The best evidence that I’ve trained my coworkers well.
PRCCDC yesterday was awesome. I had a lot of fun but was thoroughly exhausted at the end. Still, good chance to meet people, and good exposure for the WA National Guard; we brought half a dozen red team and half a dozen white.
Today I found out that I will get to attend Certified Ethical Hacker (and take the test) on the Army’s dime next week. This pleases me. It’s kind of a silly cert, but DoD has it as a prerequisite for a bunch of other stuff. Depending on how things work out, at worst I may have to take leave to attend, but that’s still cheap at the cost.

Our magical accountant yet again was able to get us a refund when all the online services said we would owe over $1k. All legit, since we just take the normal deductions (mortgage, taxes, student loan interest, daycare, etc) and nothing fancy. Really makes me wonder about those online services, since she uses computer software as well…

It’s going to be 70 today. And the kids don’t have school this week. So we can work in the yard and spring clean the house. Favorite time of the year. Followed closely by the activities of the next couple of weeks, planting season.
Must be nice. It’s going up to 10C here today, but then going back down to -5C tonight. We get yoyo temps for the next few days - 10C today, 3C tomorrow, 12C Friday, 3C Saturday, etc.
I woke up cranky this morning, but I just discovered our Blu-ray streams Pandora, so now we’re listening to the Veggie Tales station, and it’s almost impossible to be cranky while listening to that. 
ALMOST impossible. I’m still waking up. 
86.4% on my CEH exam. I think it’s a silly certification, but it’s valuable because it’s on the list of certs required to do cybery things with DoD, and the Army paid for the week-long class and the $500 test fee. Huzzah! Free training!

The garden is planted. I have green beans, zucchini, yellow squash, lemon cucumbers, snow peas, two types of lettuce, green onions, daikon, carrots, three kinds of radishes, and four kinds of tomatoes on their way.

I get to leave the office now at 3:30pm every day, after pulling a solo stint in our office for the second winter in a row (November to middle of March) where my work weeks consisted of 9 or 10 hour days and on-call every day. I feel like a crusty old bastard in this office now, instead of the subordinate who still needs to rely on a supervisor to get things done.
And I get to train the new supervisor. I feel like I’m in a prestigious club of people who are considered experienced in the field.

Got my hands on the last of my tax documents and it looks like I’m getting a nice little refund.
Got my house completely cleaned yesterday, all my shopping for the boys’ birthdays done today, and after a nice evening out with a vendor at a super-fancy restaurant will start cleaning the yard up tomorrow. So productive this week!

Um, no. I still have plenty of stuff to do here with the yard. and I didn’t exactly do anything with the basement yet. I’m pretending that since no one but family goes down there, I don’t need to clean it. 
But it will probably be next week’s project. Today is the garage and the yard clean-up. The boys want to help with it too, but we’ll see how that goes. I don’t even know if the yard is dry enough to walk around in, actually.
It’s Friday. That makes me happy.

Bruce Timm (of Batman: The Animated Series) made a short celebrating Batman’s 75th anniversary. I think I need to watch the series today instead of doing real work.
The antibiotics seem to have kicked in and I’m feeling better than I have in a couple of weeks.
