I’ve had mine for about two and a half years now. It’s the first one that I haven’t killed, but I did some research on how to properly care for it this time. Proper soil (very nutrient poor) and rainwater or distilled water only. Keep those things in mind, and they do pretty well. Oh, and keep them outside. They need the seasonal temperature variance.

I woke up this morning, took care of my morning routine and was on the road in 30 minutes, without rushing.
Slid right through traffic.
And now I’m here this morning focused, and ready to smash all these little issues that have been cropping up all week.
I love my family, but it’s amazing how much easier it is to just get myself ready and out the door in the morning.

If I didn’t laze in bed for 45 minutes reading, I could be in the office at least an hour earlier than I presently do if I didn’t have to get the kids ready.
Edit: It’d actually by 90 minutes. Up by 6, out the door by 6:20, in the office by 7

The ‘Big Sale’ here in Columbus is the ‘4th Annual Clearance Sale’ at the Ohio State Fairgrounds on June 24th to the 26th. Everything is supposed to be $2 or less. I live close enough that I don’t have to worry about coughing up the $5 for parking. 8P

Spent the entire day with my best friend from childhood (who is my bff to this day - like, I would carry her child in surrogacy bff) and her family. We did tourist for a day in our hometown and my kids are happy, full, and exhausted.

I thought you already knew that. -shrug- In fact, for a while I thought you worked at the veterinary clinic on Hudson that’s less than half a mile from my house.
No, I worked at one on s. Hamilton across from Eastland mall, and we moved about 7yrs ago to Gahanna when they blew up the strip mall we had been in. Which was fine, although I do miss the SWAT teams from the old place…we haven’t had a lockdown since we moved. 
I actually live north of the zoo, though.
I’m not allergic to wasp stings. I am allergic to honey bee stings, so I drove to the local emergency room and told there I was there “just in case” and called my health insurance provider’s on call nurse from there. My arm is a bit swollen, but the stinging sensation has subsided and I’m back home with a cold pack on it. It seems like my first reaction was the right one (retreat, run cold water over the sting).
Looks like I have a nest to spray an overkill amount of wasp poison on tonight…

Poor you. I’m allergic to wasps so I know what it’s like that moment where the little bugger stabs you and you immediately realise your epi-pen is in a different county…
Still though could you not smoke the bees out rather than poison them? Doesn’t even have to involve fire, it’s a little chemical tablet thing that fizzles away. We use them to get the wasps out of the loft.
I’ve been fighting wasp nests for the last five years. I’ve even had a professional exterminator out, but they keep coming back. If they were honey bees, I’d see about getting a professional beekeeper to come get them, but wasps are dangerous, and in an urban environment, they don’t have anywhere to go that would be safe. 
Wasps are evil, though I did just hear that you can leave the old nest in place and that will prevent them from making a new nest.
I’d read that online, but wasn’t sure if it’s true or not. I guess it won’t hurt to try it.
Four small nests sprayed. I don’t think any got out. They were all in an old potting bench. I found them when I went to get some sphagnum peat moss so I could repot my venus flytrap.
Well, now that the case is over I can talk about it. Last year due to a paperwork snafu I ended up driving without insurance, and got pulled over in October. Today the courts ruled in my favour, and not only have I not been given any penalty points but they also forewent the fine that usually accompanies the points when you’re driving without insurance.
Basically what happened is that when I got the Celerio (awesome car of awesomeness) last Spring I was added to an insurance policy that was ongoing, but when it expired in the Summer there was no renewal notice sent to Dad because [insert reason from Insurance Broker here, we still don’t know exactly why it happened] so he didn’t know it had expired. This happened to at least one other customer at the same time so evidently it was some sort of snafu in their mailing server or something similar.
Anyway, the Celerio is mine now, and insured, and this is never happening again because unlike Dad, I actually use the computer calendar to issue automatic alerts for this sort of thing!
