What Made You Happy Today?

See now usually when you cover one sign with another you make sure that you entirely cover the old sign. But when you only have printout sheets to cover a large sign that usually says “No busses or tractors” then you end up with very amused people attending the polling centre in Slaley…

I’m wishing I had a picture to go with this (TV Tropes has let me down!) but I feel like there’s a whole set of characters in various works that have a set of tank treads for legs. This is obviously the entrance they should used.

Yesterday evening I sent out an email on the ubuntu-za@lists.ubuntu.com maillist, stating that I’m looking for other work.

Got two replies almost immediately, one in Mauritius (have asked for more information) and one locally, already sent in my CV.

Will wait and see what happens.

Made me happy, this day’s going to breeze past quick-quick

I was in first place this morning on my fitbit leader board. It won’t last, but I’m going to enjoy it while I can.

Went golfing with my Dad. He’s 83. He golfs 2-3 times a week.

I’m lucky if I go 2-3 times a year!

A cold beer and a hotdog at the turn, nothing better!

I know he won’t be around forever so I savor these times.

Nobody complained about me coming in an hour late today.

That’s pretty impressive. Even if he uses a cart, that’s a lot of activity.

He’ll walk 9, but takes a cart for 18.
I hope I’m in that good shape when I retire, never mind 83!

The local PBS station shows the names of the people who pledged to support particular shows. For Doctor Who, one of the names was Harriet Jones, PM.

We had a 1Mbps uncapped ADSL line for email use, 5 static IP’s. Costs us R3k per month.

$Boss decided to chuck it out, get two 4Mbps ADSL accounts, two new ADSL routers and configure the two with a static IP each.

At a cost of R560 each month.

Quite a saving there.

Turns out I’m not crazy, and I did still have a hair in my throat from that Burger Sunday night.

After three days of gagging and coughing because I thought I was making up a hair in my throat, I finally coughed it up this morning.

I’m exhausted, didn’t sleep well yesterday and even worse last night, my chest hurts from coughing so much, but at least I’m not almost throwing up anymore.

That takes EWWW to a whole new level

Those aren’t mutually exclusive
