Well, it’s two days after chemo, and besides being really tired the allergies are my worst complaint, so maybe?

Wife and I installed a water heater.
By ourselves, no assistance from anyone.
I pulled out skills and tools for masonry, carpentry, general move-heavy-things without hurting anyone or anything, and of course, both gas and water plumbing.
Quite pleased with the results. Hit a few bumps but got past them, cleaned up goofs made by previous plumbers, and got it all done in a day. I worked from roughly 0830 to 1730, with a break or two plus lunch. She worked about half of that, sometimes being the assistant, sometimes taking the lead.

This is more of a what’s making me happy this week. I’ve been turning about 20 pounds of bison roasts into jerky. 
That’s a lot of jerky, but it freezes well and tastes sooooo much better than the crud you get at the store.

Made it through the first stage of interviews for a job driving public busses. Should know by Monday when the second stage of interviews will be.

This is a skill that usually happens so far apart that each time is a new time. However, this spring I did two in 30 days. Mine and my rental’s.
Thankfully neither were in small closets or crawlspaces, or installed into deadspace in the walls.
I’m always concerned that I’m able to properly sweat a copper fitting. Replacing a water heater isn’t the time I need to work the rust off my plumbing skills. I haven’t had to replace one in over 15 years come to think of it…
Ah… so THAT’S why we didn’t consult on any plumbing projects while I was visiting. You’re already well versed!
Yeah, the second one I forgot about draining the line after I found a leak, so I was trying to sweat a pipe that was filled with water. I think there is about $20 worth of solder on that water heater.

The month’s effort that co-worker and I put in has paid off - the entire weekend’s work ran smoothly and without any problems at all.

I’m pretty proud of my plumbing skills… including sweating copper fittings. But with the advent of the slip-on, never leak fittings and PEX tubing I’m afraid my skills will soon become obsolete.

A couple of local Kroger’s (local to Columbus, Ohio that is) had some Lego sets on closeout for 50% and 75% off. Seriously thinking of heading back tomorrow for more.

Ghana, Groveport and E. Broad & New Albany Rd. Is what I saw yesterday. As for what was on sale, it varied by location. But the mine craft crafting box was one of them. Some city sets and some Star Wars sets too. I’d check the Powell and Sawmill store, but you’d better move fast.

I’ve just booked tickets for a concert in January. The concert features Icehouse, Alan Parsons and Bonnie Tyler.
Alan Parsons is one of my favourite artists (and my wife enjoys their music). Icehouse is one of my wife’s favourite artists (and I enjoy their music), and both of us enjoy Bonnie Tyler. This is something we can both really look forward to for the next 6 months

Wouldn’t mind going to that one myself. Parsons has some US shows in November, but I doubt I could get to Texas or Oklahoma to see 'em.

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl comic. It’s surprisingly hard to dislike, if you accept that the artwork is intentionally very stylized.
I managed to keep a pokemon stationed at a gym long enough to collect coins. It looks like you can collect coins every 21 hours, but the time resets when you actually collect them, so you don’t get coins every 21 hours. 
On the other hand, yesterday I hit level 20 and I caught a pikachu.
